At BetterHer, we are a passionate community-driven organization dedicated to transforming the lives of women and girls across Nigeria through innovative healthcare, education, and advocacy. Founded with a vision to break barriers and empower the underserved, we strive to address critical health challenges, including menstrual hygiene, cervical cancer awareness, and family planning, while fostering collaboration with local and international partners. Our journey began with a simple belief: every woman deserves the opportunity to thrive, and health is the foundation of that opportunity.
What we do is rooted in action. We organize impactful events like the World Health Day outreach in Idi Ogungun, educational programs on menstrual hygiene at UCH Staff and ABH, and support initiatives for orphaned children at Jesus Kids Orphanage. Through our Contraceptive Awareness campaign at Idia Hall and Cervical Cancer awareness at ISI, we provide essential resources and knowledge to empower communities. Our collaborations with Project WANDEL, Project Promote Health, Glea Network, and Dr. Odunayo amplify our reach, blending expertise and compassion to create lasting change.
How we operate is a testament to our commitment. We work hand-in-hand with local leaders, healthcare professionals, and volunteers, leveraging technology and partnerships to deliver sustainable solutions. Our operations are guided by a participatory approach, ensuring that the voices of the women we serve shape our programs. From Ibadan to remote villages, we deploy mobile health units, conduct workshops, and distribute supplies, all while maintaining transparency and accountability.
Why we exist is simple yet profound: to uplift women’s health and empower future generations. We believe that healthy women build healthy communities, and by addressing disparities in healthcare access, we pave the way for economic and social progress. Our mission is driven by the urgent need to combat gender-based health inequities, a cause that resonates deeply in Nigeria’s diverse cultural landscape.
Where we serve spans the length and breadth of Nigeria, with a strong base in Ibadan and outreach to underserved regions. Whether it’s providing care in urban centers or bringing hope to rural areas, BetterHer is committed to leaving no woman behind. Join us as we explore our full goal of creating a healthier, more empowered Nigeria—one woman at a time.
